Crash course: Vogue wigs, lace front?

It's quite normal to make some bad choices along the way, you spend money on wigs and at the end of the day, develop a preference for a style, a brand and once in a while you divert and may discover something new. The market for wigs is evolving so fast, as we speak, new synthetic fibers are available, it's incredible how the demand is increasing and women all over the world are buying wigs.
Although we talk about fashion wigs, the cheaper ones that are not made for daily wear, but for going out for example, these are good to have as back ups in any case.
For travel or swimming etc.
Because prices vary so much, you can get a real human hair wig for thousands and may not be satisfied with it. You may find a synthetic wig for a couple of hundred and love it. You have to be willing to try and not get discouraged.

Spicing things up

This is my Go-to model, the Blair, by Jon Renau. It's a very comfortable wear, light and it has the velcro clips, it holds well and is breathable!!
I have it in every color!!

Changing styles is a personal choice, as I mentioned earlier, at first, I wanted my wig to look just like my own hair, and it took me close to some years before I felt confident to change up my look.
I started from going from long to short, which was a baby step. I got so many compliments, people all agreed that short hair suited me.
And from there, I gradually added color, went a shade lighter and in no time wanted to explore this whole new world that had opened to me!!!

For my bachelorette party, I tried this pixie cut, with highlights...so fun and great for the hot summer months!!

buying a wig is so easy and fun

You know, for anyone out there who is living through something similar to what I went through, I realize how everything is so easily accessible these days through the internet.

You can pretty much get any kind of information off of YouTube. it s so reassuring, to be able to watch from the  comfort of your home, others who have posted and shared their experiences with loosing their hair.

I consider myself no different, lately, I have been impressed with the openness that people in my environment talk about wigs, it's a fashion thing, or kind of!!

You can purchase wigs for much cheaper and the types and quality are so vast, it's somewhat intimidating t first.

The first step is to establish what your needs are, because, if it's alopecia, it's long term, so this is an investment. There is synthetic wigs and real human hair wigs, so it's important to know if you want a wash'n wear or if you will be grooming it just like your own hair.
I did the human hair at first because I wanted something that looked just like my very own hair. I took a photo in to the wig shop and they created a wig that was a replica of my own hair so that nobody at work could tell.
As time went, by, I tried the synthetic and loved it for it's convenience factor!!!
This wig is a synthetic wig- lace front, love it!! It's now made with fibers that can be heated, so it's an HD wig, by Jon Renau

Hair, Hair, Hair

It's funny how, over the years, living with Alopecia Totalis, has totally become me.
I was just talking about the journey I went through to accept it, and remembered my BLOG...ha moment.
I have decided to pick up where I left off, let's see, 2012, so that would be a couple of years...

I still have days where I wish it would grow back and I have had periods where the growth was very promising (probably due to hormonal changes like my pregnancy etc).
But, alas, it all falls out.

I have had all kinds of emotional ups and downs, about telling or not telling friends, co-workers etc.
I have had moments where I realize it's almost a God sent because I don't have to spend hours blow drying and taking care of it (the hair of course).
The practicality of washing it the night before and leaving it out to dry and it's prêts à porter!!

Here are some of my looks over the years!!

The lace front wigs are amazing!!! In this photo, my eyebrows are doing pretty good, over the years, they have fallen out and grown back several times!

Okay, so I will admit, I did actually fun being blond, lol!!! This wig is a good wig, by Jon Renau, its called BLAIR!
